The Heyward House, built in 1841, is located in the heart of Bluffton’s Historic District, and serves as the Official Welcome Center for the town of Bluffton. The house museum offers guided tours of the 4-room Carolina farmhouse and two outbuildings, which are filled with interesting artifacts and furnishings from the late 1800’s into the 1920’s. Guided Tours are available Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturdays from 10am-3pm. Reservations are not required for house tours, unless you have a group of 10 or more. Tours last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, and are offered as visitors arrive unless previously scheduled. Any visit to Bluffton should begin at the Heyward House, even if you only need a map and some lunch spot suggestions!
