Crescendo: Celebrating Arts, Culture & History

The 2023 Crescendo Celebration features a plethora of unique arts and cultural programs, concerts, theatrical productions, museum and gallery exhibits, lectures, poetry readings, dance performances, historical tours, hands-on arts experiences, and educational offerings which are estimated to attract more than 10,000 people from all over the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe.

Kicking off October 7th the program will amaze and excite attendees until the curtains close on November 18th, 2023. Several marquee events are planned including performances, parties and the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival.

Annual Crescendo Community Celebration

Tuesday, October 10th: Annual Crescendo Community Celebration featuring live music, storytelling, and exhibitions by artists and cultural organizations at Shelter Cove Community Park. Special guest performance by visiting musicians, the Maharaja Flamenco Tri.

Symphony Under the Stars

On October 20, 2023, at 7:30 pm, the HHSO will perform at Lowcountry Celebration Park at Coligny. John Morris Russell and the HHSO will present “Hollywood in the Lowcountry,” with music from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Forrest Gump, and The Prince of Tides, along with epic action and adventure soundtracks, and sweeping romantic scores to create an evening of sonic technicolor.  Lawn seating is free for both concerts—audience members should bring a blanket or chairs, and a picnic dinner and enjoy the HHSO al fresco.

Historic Mitchelville Film Festival

The Historic Mitchelville Film Festival 2023 is a captivating two-day event that celebrates the rich tapestry of African American history, creativity, resilience, and resistance through the powerful medium of cinema. Hosted by Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park, this festival aims to showcase a compelling mix of short and long-form films that highlight the incredible stories of Black individuals and communities.

Arts Center of Coastal Carolina presents "Clue"

Based on the iconic 1985 film – inspired by the classic Hasbro board game – Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. At a remote mansion, six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects.

Intricate Oceans

The Coastal Discovery Museum is excited to announce the upcoming exhibition Intricate Oceans: Coral in Contemporary Art, opening September 23, 2023. Featuring work from seven contemporary artists who are deeply concerned with the health of the coral reefs, the exhibition will explore through their work the environmental pressures facing our oceans.
