July 31st Saturday Night on the Porch

Chef Modou & his talented team will be smoking brisket and frying chicken for a classic southern Saturday night on the Lowcountry Fresh porch.  Thanks to our friends at River Dog Brewing in Okatie, South Carolina for helping put on this event.

        A single 6:00 seating of 40 people will feast on:

  • Joyce Farms, house-brined fried chicken, smoked brisket
  • Seasonal local veggie sides, house-baked roll & dessert
  • A pint glass of River Dog draft or bottomless Iced Tea

August 6th Matthew Raiford Cooking Demo
Chef Matthew Raiford  is a 2018 James Beard award finalist and author of the newly released BRESS ’N’ NYAM, a book of more than 100 heirloom recipes from a dynamic chef and farmer working the lands of his great-great-great grandfather.  27 guests will enjoy four Gullah Geechee dishes, including Quick Pickled Seasonal Vegetables, Local Beer Bread with Whipped Feta, Effie’s Shrimp Creole, and Magic Fruit Cobbler. Each guest will receive a signed copy of Matthew's new book. 

August 7th Matthew Raiford Supper Club
The friendliest fine dining experience in Bluffton will be even livelier when Matthew Raiford hosts a Gullah Geechee Supper. A sixth generation farmer, Matthew will share Family, Farming and Food with 40 guests.  The menu will include

  • Farmer’s Gazpacho
  • Grilled Watermelon Salad with Sangria Vinaigrette
  • Double Oink - Bacon wrapped pork loin with roasted seasonal vegetables and olive oil grits
  • Vegan/Vegetarian Curried Vegetable Gallette
  • Effie's Molasses Pound Cake with Muscadine Semifreddo

August 19th Andrew Carmines Cooking Demo
Seafood is the heart of Lowcountry cuisine but it can be tricky to prepare at home. Restaurateur Andrew Carmines has upped the seafood standards on Hilton Head Island since taking the helm at legendary Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks.  You will leave this class with tried & true techniques to make memorable dishes from fresh local seafood. 

August 21st Lowcountry Fresh Chefs' Supper Club
Chefs Modou, Duane & Kaylah and culinary director BJ Dennis wowed guests at our first Lowcountry Fresh Supper Club with four courses that highlighted the deep connections between the food traditions of the Lowcountry, Africa and the Caribbean.  Join us to see how they outdo themselves at the second Lowcountry Fresh Chefs' Supper Club.
