Come one, come all to the second annual Holiday Heartwarming Basketball Tournament where police, and fire will square off on the hardwood to raise money for children to participate in the Bluffton Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program.
The tournament will be held Friday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Bluffton High School Gymnasium. Admission to watch the game is free to children under 5 and $3 for all others. Donations will also be accepted.
All proceeds raised at the tournament will go towards giving two children from each Bluffton school the opportunity to shop for their families for the holidays. All the children will go shopping with a officer to purchase the items. “We want to build relationships with the young adults in our community. What better way to do that than connecting with an officer while shopping for holiday gifts,” said Bluffton Police Chief Chris Chapmond.
In addition to watching the action on the court, children who attend will also be able to take part in a basketball and cheerleading clinic provided by local high school students during half-time.
