Learn about the different groups of carnivorous plants present in the Lowcountry and walk away with your own carnivorous plant bog garden.  Join Carlos Chacon, Manager of Natural History at the Coastal Discovery Museum for this unique opportunity to build your own bog garden.  The Lowcountry is home to different groups of plants that have independently evolved carnivorous habits.  From tiny sundews, to large pitcher plants, butterworts, aquatic bladderworts and the unique Venus Fly Trap - hear how these incredible plants defy the odds by outsmarting insects and other prey.

These hands on, after hour classes are NEW in 2019!  Come learn about local, art, culture and environment - from the experts - AND take home something that you helped create. 

$15 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.  Appropriate for ages 10 and older.
