Hilton Head Island Gets a Visit From Tennis Great, Venus Williams
Venus Williams, four time Olympian and 22 time Grand Slam Champion visited Hilton Head Island this past week as part of her promotional tour for her tennis and athletic line, EleVen. Brought in by Players World of Sports in Shelter Cove Towne Center, Venus hugged and talked for hours with fans from all walks of life…. “Having the opportunity to meet people and hear their story is very motivating for me.”
Long-time Hilton Head Island resident and former #1 Tennis Player in the World, Stan Smith joined the crowd in meeting Venus and talking to her about inspiration and connecting with a younger audience.
Indigo Run residents and local realtors, Lenore and Gary Carter enjoyed meeting Venus, saying that she was “so gracious and simply down to earth” and complimented her for her commitment to speak with everyone individually.
At one point, Venus was seen facetiming. Wanting to make their friends dream come true, these locals told their friend to wait by the phone for a surprise.
Here are some more photos from Venus’ appearance on Hilton Head Island at Players World of Sports.
