Savannah’s 8th Annual A-Town Get Down will take place on Saturday, April 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Indian Street - Under the Bridge, between Fahm and Warner Streets.
This hands-on, interactive, family-friendly celebration of live art, music, and food truck cuisine includes a robust musical lineup of familiar favorites, including headliner Chuck Leavell, who many in the Savannah area will remember as a key figure in The Allman Brothers Band. Leavell’s keyboard work has also been heard on the works of Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, and many other prominent artists. Festival attendees will also enjoy performances by The New Familiars, Southern Avenue, Randall Bramblett, Webb Wilder, Walter Parks with Bernard Purdie, and more.
As with every A-Town Get Down Festival, professional local and regional artists will produce live art installations and large-scale performances as well as participate in interactive workshops with festival attendees of all ages.
The festival, held each year in memory and honor of SCAD student Alex “A-Town” Townsend, operates with the mission of increasing access to art and music experiences throughout the Savannah community. There will be endless entertainment for attendees of all ages and admission is free for children 12 and under. For more information and to purchase tickets online, visit A-TownGetDown.com.
