If these walls could talk
Coastal Discovery Museum 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926
The Barnwell tabby ruins located on the north end of Hilton Head Island. Investigators from the University of South Carolina Beaufort are using Archaeology, archival research, and geological dating analysis to determine when the structure was created, its uses through time, and the role of African and African-American enslaved laborers at this structure. Join us to learn new information gleaned from excavationsand archival research, both of which suggest the tabby ruins are older than originally thought, possibly dating to the island’s colonial period occupations. Presented by Dr. Kimberly Cavanaugh, University of South Carolina - Beaufort.
