Annual Community Thanksgiving of Hilton Head Island

The concept for the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner of Hilton Head began with a 1998 article published in the Island Packet newspaper that described lonely locals who had no place to go on Thanksgiving Day. This beloved community tradition - now in its 27th year - is a partnership between St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church and Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks Restaurant. The dinner is FREE to all 1,500 people who attend from around the region and the country. A delicious traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings is served family-style from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. More than 325 volunteers contribute their time by assisting with parking, welcoming guests, serving meals, and performing a variety of other tasks. Donations are accepted through the website, https://communitythanksgiving.com, and onsite during Thanksgiving Day, and 100% of all funds raised are distributed to Bluffton Self Help, The Deep Well Project, and Second Helpings. These nonprofit organizations support our local community in a variety of ways all year-round.
