The 2021 Crescendo Celebration features a plethora of unique arts and cultural programs, concerts, theatrical productions, museum and gallery exhibits, lectures, poetry readings, dance performances, historical tours, hands-on arts experiences, and educational offerings which are estimated to attract more than 10,000 people from all over the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe.

Kicking off October 10th the program will amaze and excite attendees until the curtains close on November 13, 2021. Several marquee events are planned including performances, parties and the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival.

Crescendo Community Celebration

October 12, 2021

Join us in Shelter Cove Community Park for performances by local musicians, dancers and story-tellers and by Columbia’s Little Big Band for a night of jazz and community celebrations. Local arts & culture organizations will have booths and there will be live painting, wine and beer, and door prizes. A great night to celebrate National Arts & Humanities Month on Hilton Head Island.

Chantelle Rytter

The Coastal Discovery Museum invites you to come see the art of Chantelle Rytter up close. The artist behind the hugely successful Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade, as well as Hilton Head’s own lantern parade, Rytter has been creating joy through her art in communities for 20 years. The museum is pleased to show the full spectrum of her work, including one-of-a kind lanterns, puppets, drawings, sketchbooks, photographs, and other ephemera.

Jazz For All Ages

A protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Sandoval was born in Artemisa, a small town in the outskirts of Havana, Cuba, on November 6, 1949, just two years after Gillespie became the first musician to bring Latin influences into American Jazz. Sandoval began studying classical trumpet at the age of twelve, but it didn’t take him long to catch the excitement of the jazz world. He has since evolved into one of the world’s most acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugelhorn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer.

A parade of our community in light. Every participant will have a lantern to march. Each lantern will be a representation of our history, our ecology, our recreation or ourselves.
