logo_hhiwfThe 30th Annual Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival, taking place March 9-14 brings together wine, spirits and food lovers and celebrity wine experts at one of the largest outdoor wine festivals on the East Coast, featuring 500+ wines. The 2015 festival spans the week  and offers an impressive line-up featuring world-class vineyards, local and regional celebrity chefs, live entertainment and an array of visual and performing artists. The highly-acclaimed International Wine Judging Competition precedes the 2015 festival February 6 – 8. Proceeds from festival events will benefit the John T. and Valerie Curry Scholarship Fund.

Wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to sample hundreds of outstanding domestic and international wines and some of the Lowcountry’s best cuisine at the premier wine event, Saturday, March 14 at The Sea Pines Resort.

Par for the Cork Golf Tournament

The festival’s inaugural golf event pairs guests, pros and chefs on the signature Ocean Course. Players will compete in this best-ball tournament for longest drive, closest to the hole, and the chance to win the W + F grand prize for a hole in one. Tournament fee includes deluxe box lunch, select wine sampling, and post-event reception and awards ceremony.

Old School vs New School
Taste the pioneers that put Napa Valley on the map, and where the Valley is now. Legends such as Robert Mondavi, Grgich Hills, Frogs Leap, and Franciscan, all lead the way to wineries such as Pride, Brookman, Shafer, Miner, and Elyse. Join us as we taste through these legendary wines and hear the history of the Valley.

Part Two. AVA Tastings. You say you like Napa Cabernet, or Willamette Pinot Noirs? Taste various AVA’s (American Viticulture Area) and identify which area you prefer. Highlighted areas of Willamette will be Dundee, Eola Hills, Yamhill Carlton and Southern Willamette Valley Monroe. Napa Valley will be represented by Oakville, Stags Leap District, Rutherford and St. Helena. Differences between Chardonnay from Napa and Sonoma will be an additional topic for discussion.

Featuring an award-winning celebrity barbecue chef and local craft beer selections.
