One of Hilton Head Island’s best local events takes place March 30th – April 5th….The Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival combines a love for the water, food, music and family and honors the memory of Islander, David M. Carmines.
Carmines, son of Hudson’s Seafood on the Docks owners, Brian and Gloria Carmines and brother of Hudson’s General Manager, Andrew Carmines grew up on Hilton Head was stricken with cancer at a young age. In 2001, he passed away. This festival – presented by the David M. Carmines Memorial Foundation – honors his memory and his love for the water, and funds raised benefit the Island Rec Center Scholarship Fund, The American Cancer Society and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Clinic. What started as a small seafood event with kayaking has turned into a full-fledged week of outdoor and culinary experiences. Join us on Hilton Head Island this April in celebrating our waterways, the festivals ongoing efforts (they have raised over $200,000 to date) and honoring the spirit of David Carmines!
