There are times that I yearn for peaceful moments; longing to sit for hours and read a good book. I want to meander a quiet country lane, listen to Mother Nature whisper her secrets and become enveloped by a wide-open space, where I can count the stars under the enormity of a clear Lowcountry night sky. Here in Bluffton, there is arguably no better place to lose oneself, to be covered by soothing relaxation, AND get caught up in fresh vitality than Palmetto Bluff. Here nature meet luxury and it’s nothing short of spectacular.

Palmetto Bluff hugs the pristine May River along Bluffton’s western boundary, encompassing 20,000 acres of resort and conservation preserve. For visitors to the “Bluff” as it’s known locally, the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, an Auberge Resort, serves as an unofficial anchor of the property welcoming resort newbies to the splendor of it’s casual elegance. It’s also a pretty great place to sip an Arnold Palmer and take in the gorgeous views!

Over that past several months the resort has ungraded it’s 50 guest cottages with even more luxurious features:

  • An iPad® for each cottage
  • Pull-out sofas
  • Drop-leaf tables for more intimate in-room dining experiences
  • 56-inch high-definition televisions
  • Re-upholstered outdoor furniture for the private porches
  • Customized bikes, perfect for exploring all that nature

The accommodations at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff are cottages. They have been recently refreshed and refurbished to include an iPad in every one. There’s no excuse to not know what’s happening at the Resort every moment of the day! Photo courtesy of Palmetto Bluff Resort.

And even if you’re not staying onsite, you can still get a taste of the Palmetto Bluff experience by renting a bike and taking a spin through the properties many miles of trails.
