Mitchelville
Come discover the evolution of freedom. The journey begins in the slave era, but Mitchelville is so much more than slavery past. It is the birth of a beautiful blossom from a dried-up field of scorn and pain. Mitchelville appeared on a hill to show the world what could become of a people left to wither in neglect but who still nurtured that seed to get up and thrive. You can begin the journey at the dock where the slave ships arrive. Come face to face with Harriett Tubman, American abolitionist, humanitarian, and an armed scout and spy for the United States Army during the American Civil War.
