Flights for Sites

How does Flights for Sites Work?
In order to be eligible for the Flights for Sites program, established organizations or that are considering Hilton Head Island or Bluffton for their upcoming destination meeting, conference, trade show, reunion or similar group event must have agreed to do a site visit of the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton for a particular event.
Group Guidelines
Groups must adhere to the following basic guidelines to be eligible for funds through the Flights for Sites program:
- The proposed meeting must have a minimum of 100 total room nights to qualify
- Event cannot be held in Peak Season (June through August)
- The proposed meeting/event must take place in Hilton Head Island or Bluffton at a Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce member property.
Funding Guidelines
Flights for Sites funding is available on a first come, first served basis and is subject to availability. The maximum amount of funding that can be awarded to one site visit is $500. Once the funds for the Flights for Sites program have been allocated for the fiscal year, no additional sponsorship will be accepted until the next fiscal year.
All pertinent information must be provided to the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Visitor & Convention Bureau to be considered:
- Dates Arrival & departure pattern
- Room block per night
- Group’s history with room pick-up for past 3 years, as documented by the host properties
- Formal RFP
Approval and Disbursement of Funds
An Organization and/or Accommodation Property submission will be reviewed by the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Visitor & Convention Bureau to determine whether they meet the guidelines set forth in this document. The amount of Flights for Sites dollars the organization qualifies for is based on the amount of the airfare, not to exceed $500. A maximum of one third of the Flights for Sites dollars available for the fiscal year can be used by one accommodation property.
