The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn offers Hilton Head boat tours and nature tours and cruises of Hilton Head, as well as history and ecological programs for all ages. Check out their 'Gettin' to Know a Gator' that features a live alligator. Or, plan to go on one of the kayak tours of the local waterways and get up close to dolphins and other marine life.

Families, and especially including teens and tweens, are excited to learn that there are several miniature golf courses available on the Island: Pirate’s Island, Adventure Cove and Legendary Golf each offer a unique golfing experience, while keeping the whole gang laughing and smiling along the way. In addition, all of these are reachable via the Island’s bike path system, making for a great morning or afternoon of physical and recreational fun.

Island Playground, an indoor playground offers inflatable slides, obstacle courses, imagination stations, and a family picnic area. They also have a separate toddler exploration area with climbers, soft play gymnastics and tunnels.

The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina has year-round productions, exhibits, and festivals. And from June-August, your family can listen to an outdoor concert and cap your evening with a brilliant summertime fireworks display in Shelter Cove Harbour.

One of the most popular activities on Hilton Head is biking. With miles of both paved and dirt paths covering the Island, there isn’t a place visitors can’t go with their bikes, including the 12 miles of sandy beaches. Children's Camps
Sometimes kids want to strike out on their own and take advantage of all the Island has to offer. When the simple pleasure of sandcastles is not enough, the Hilton Head Island offers myriad options for kids to pursue their own interests. From supervised recreation at Hilton Head family resorts to specialized sports camps, there is a program that will satisfy every kid’s personality and parent’s peace of mind. Children of every age will have fun exploring the diverse activities of Hilton Head Island with these programs:

The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa –This casually elegant seaside resort offers great programs for kids including The Westin Kids Club for ages 4-12, a full or half-day program of activities including arts & crafts, trips to the beach or pool and the Westin Kids Club Discovery Room filled with its own movie library and photo corner. Cost for the Westin Kids Club is $70 per day ($50 for each additional sibling) or $290 per week ($225 per week for each additional sibling). Half-day programs are $45 per child ($35 for each additional sibling). Let the kids have a night on their own at Kids Night Out. Meet other kids for an evening of crafts, games, beach activity (if weather permits), dinner and a movie. Cost for the Kids Night Out program is $50 per session ($45 for each additional sibling). The Westin Kids Club Family Excursions are a great way for the entire family to explore Hilton Head Island in a way unlike any other. Crowne Plaza Hilton Head Island Beach Resort - This AAA four-diamond resort offers camps with a variety of activities such as a visit to the Fire Station, miniature golf course, a dolphin cruise or a visit to the Sandbox. Children 3-12 years are invited to join for a fun filled day with games, arts and crafts, swimming and much more. Ages 3-5 years are welcome in one of our half day sessions (either AM or PM) while ages 6-12 can join for a full or half day session. Lunch and/or snack provided. Pre-registration is recommended. The Sea Pines Resort – This resort, situated in the heart of the Harbour Town Marina, offers “Fun for Kids!” – a summer day camp for ages 4-12. Handpicked counselors entertain kids with bowling, putt-putt golf, beach games and a cruise every Friday to see dolphins in Calibogue Sound. For kids who want a sports experience, Sea Pines offers a "Future Stars" Junior Golf Program for a fun introduction to the game by PGA Golf Professionals. Lawton Stables Summer Camp is designed for riders of all levels. We will be teaching horsemanship skills ranging from barn management to the fundamentals of shoeing a horse. There will be daily formal riding instruction provided by one of our top instructors. Sessions run Monday through Friday from 8am-noon. The camp is available for 8 to 16 year olds. Island Playground Cardio Kids Camp (Drop off the kids and go shop at the outlets!) Morning Camps or Day Camps are offered throughout the summer. Island Playground is and indoor playground featuring inflatable fun and creative play for kids under 12. The International Junior Golf Academy offers monthly and weekly boarding camps from mid-June through mid-August for ages 12 and up. Young golfers from around the world come for intensive instruction by PGA teaching professionals, a low student-instructor ratio and fun activities such as pool parties and picnics. The Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy offers the most comprehensive golf instruction in the world for junior golfers in grades 5-12. In addition, our post-graduate program provides for those student-athletes who are seeking to increase their SAT scores or lower their handicap to earn college golf scholarships. In addition, weekly & multi-week golf programs are offered over the summer from May 31 – August 2nd.
