Hilton Head Tennis

Five major tennis centers boast more than 100 courts, for both public and resort use. And while the favored surface here is clay, hard and grass courts are also available, as are indoor and lighted facilities. Legendary tennis instructor Dennis Van Der Meer has helped to serve up Hilton Head Island tennis to players around the globe by founding his own teaching university on the Island. Likewise, Wimbledon champion Stan Smith also calls Hilton Head Island home and can be found, from time to time, displaying his famed techniques on the court. Click here for more Tennis Information.

Hilton Head Golf

Golf and Hilton Head Island. The words are as inseparable as "Palmer & Nicklaus." As synonymouse as "Fore" and "Look out!"   There is a reason why residents and returning visitors to Hilton Head Island affectionately refer to the destination as "The Golf Island." In fact, the game of golf has been a Lowcountry tradition since the first Scottish immigrants to South Carolina organized America's first golf club in 1786. Today, there are more than 20 championship public-access courses located on Hilton Head Island, four of which consistently rank among the nation's Top 100 in key golf publications. Hilton Head Island is also the home to the Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament which is played every April at Harbour Town Golf Links.
