Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Hudson’s Seafood on the Docks!

One of the most blessed parts about the Lowcountry is the sense of community among Hilton Head Island visitors and locals alike.  This is displayed each year at the Community Thanksgiving Dinner hosted at Hilton Head Island favorite, Hudsons Seafood on the Docks.

Established in 1999 by Hudson’s Seafood on the Docks owner Brian Carmines, Betsy Doughtie, Executive Director of The Deep Well Project and members of the St. Andrew By-The-Sea Methodist Church, this volunteer driven community Thanksgiving hosted 500 people in the first year and has grown to over 1600 people in attendance.  The meal is free, and if you choose to donate, all money goes to The Deep Well Project.  In addition to guests, more than 400 volunteers show up to seat, clean, cook, hostess and join others in festively noshing with friends and family. Some families even make it part of their holiday tradition of service with even the littlest ones “helping” out.  Click here to volunteer.

There are plenty of volunteer opportunities available at this Community Thanksgiving!
