Nationally, the top wellness trends for the New Year include fitness-oriented wearables, mindfulness apps like Headspace and eating unprocessed foods. Locally on Hilton Head, The Sonesta Resort and Hilton Head Health are partnering to set a new trend in destination wellness that will not only put Hilton Head on the map as a health retreat epicenter but perhaps create an international health initiative.
“With this partnership, we are poised to brand the Island as a wellness destination,” began Adam Martin, VP of Marketing for Hilton Head Health. “There are 34 suites for Hilton Head Health guests on the Sonesta property. In the rooms you will find our robes and our signature approach to wellness. We will also have a Hilton Head Health branded club for people in our programs to congregate, share stories and enjoy healthy snacks.”
“This really is a win-win for everyone—including our guests and both the resort and Hilton Head Health,” said Chris Bracken, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head.
Nodding Martin added, “We have created something that is really new and committed to wellness. Sure, other places claim they are wellness-oriented just because they have dumbbells in the room or an aerobics channel. But, with our programs and time-tested approach to healthy living, what we are offering is comprehensive wellness.”
Here’s how the partnership will get Hilton Head in fighting shape to revolutionize wellness retreats:
Hilton Head Health has scheduled a powerful speaker series, featuring some truly extraordinary world-renowned experts. “We’ve invited our speakers to share their wisdom through inspirational stories. We continue to host world-renowned speakers like Caitlin Kiernan and Fawn Germer who talk on subjects ranging from overcoming adversity to work-life balance, as well as interactive workshops and events that provide guests with the tools to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Martin. Spa treatments are not a luxury—they’re a necessity when it comes to reducing stress and maintaining optimal health. Guests of Hilton Head Health and The Sonesta Resort can benefit from services at both The Indigo Spa and Arum.
By discussing nutrition and portion control, Hilton Head Health’s Healthy Kitchens program and cooking classes shows participants how good food can also be good for you. The Sonesta will take many of Hilton Head Health’s signature healthy dishes to create an additional wellness menu for its guests—making room service and resort fare a guilt-free indulgence.
People relishing in the Hilton Head Health-Sonesta Resort partnership will commit to a week-long program. During their stay, not only will they learn all the tools to better living but Hilton Head Health offers free shuttle rides around the Island and both Hilton Health and The Sonesta Resort will offer fitness opportunities like beach yoga, biking and other outdoor activities.
“The New Year is a great time to reflect on your goals and together with the Sonesta we want to help people make that happen,” said Martin.
“The Sonesta Resort has always strived to be community oriented and with this partnership we will not only help locals get healthy, but visitors as well,” added Bracken.
