Proud owner of “Hilton Head’s first course” title, the course was originally designed by George Cobb in 1962 and later redesigned by PGA Tour pro and past PLAYERS champion, Mark McCumber. Varying sets of tees and strategic placement of lagoons and bunkers make the Ocean Course appealing for both beginners and advanced golfers. As “Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” certified, the course also demonstrates a fine example of combining interest, challenge and strategy of golf with the natural beauty of Sea Pines.
