About the Chamber

Your chamber is comprised of 25 full-time staff members who work diligently to provide quality service and benefits. 

Communications

The Communications Division facilitates all internal and external communications for your chamber.  The department designs and produces all membership publications, including the Membership Directory and Chamber Business Monthly.  Additionally, the department serves as the liaison for our New York-based pulic relations firm and fields all local and national media requests and hosts visiting journalists and broadcast crews.  This division also oversees special events and coordinates the chamber’s Leadership programs.

Finance & Administration
The Finance Division works to maintain the financial stability of your chamber and to establish operating policies and procedures that will secure financial integrity.  Additionally, this division implements personnel policies and procedures and manages the chamber’s technology needs.

Government Affairs
Government Affairs serves as the liaison between the business community and the Towns of Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, Beaufort County, and state and federal officials.  Through the Government Affairs Committee, the chamber staff informs the business community about local, state and federal issues that impact our business environment.  The chamber staff also prepares position papers to help influence elected leaders to support pro-business initiatives and legislation.

Membership Development
Membership Development focuses its efforts on communicating with the membership and providing benefits, programs and services to members.  The division strives to increase the membership base of the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, while maximizing retention and enhancing communications with members through periodic surveys, membership meetings and focus groups.

Visitors & Convention Bureau
The Visitors & Convention Bureau is the destination marketing arm of your chamber.  It provides destination information to visitors , meeting planners , travel industry professionals and the media, while fostering professionalism and ethical business practices among the tourism industry.  This division works to increase quality visitation through its marketing efforts, to cultivate convention and group business and strives to improve awareness and understanding of the economic and social contributions of tourism to the community.

Workforce Development & Education
The goal of the Workforce & Education Division is to implement programs and initiatives to play an active role in the area’s business education partnerships, prepare students and jobseekers for the workplace and to ensure the stable economic base of our region by helping our members recruit, retain and develop their workforce.
