Biking Across Hilton Head Island

Bike Friendly Communities awardHilton Head Island is the perfect place to enjoy cycling in a remarkable natural setting. More than 60 miles of multi-use trails connect riders to everywhere you want to go, and you can even bike to the Hilton Head beaches. Ride with a group, Kickin' Asphalt, a local biking club that coordinates weekly rides for bikers of all levels. Biking gives you easy access to Hilton Head outlet shopping, restaurants, tennis, and work. Read our blog about Hilton Head bike trails.

National Bike Month

National Bike MonthNational Bike Month is an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride. Whether you bike to work or school; to save money or time; to preserve your health or the environment; to explore your community or get to your destination, get involved in Bike Month in your city or state — and help get more people in your community out riding too!

Locally, the Hilton Head Island Bicycle Advisory Committee – an offshoot of the  Island’s success last year in achieving Silver Level status as a Bicycle Friendly Community – has compiled a list of activities and events that will recognize the bicycle presence and opportunities to ride in the region.

Activities planned for May 2012 include:
